Cliff Wold's was our outfitter for our recent Boundary Waters trip - we couldn't have asked for a better outfitter. For 4 out of our 6 group members, it was our first trip to BWCA - Ryan had maps ready to go with recommended campsites. He was professional, informative, and we felt well prepared. Amazing outfitter! Very friendly and professional in getting us set up and with our equipment. Once we were out in the boundary waters a flash flood and tornado passed through that essentially left us stranded due to the water levels and flooded portages. Ryan from Cliff Wold’s went above and beyond in a very short amount of time and was able to find a boating company to get us out the next day. Great hospitality and equipment. Ryan and his staff were amazing and professional. We had a group of 6 with 3 being first timers. They were accommodating to our needs at every step from permits to getting the canoes to the lake. We entered on 4 through Burntside Lake, they brought the canoes to the nearest boat landing when requested. The portage itself is rated level 9 out of 10 so it was challenging to bring canoe and packs in one trip so we split them up. On our way back we got stuck on a portage in a tornado warning and two flash floods. We were delayed in bring back the canoes as 4 was washed out. Ryan had beers and waters waiting for us when we arrived at the landing, what an amazing gesture. I highly recommend, and will recommend to friends, family and anyone asking who to use, Cliff Wold's Outfitting Company. If you're on the fence, look no further. We had a great time on our trip to the Boundary Waters thanks to the Cliff Wold's Outfitting crew. This was our first trip to the BWCA and we really didn't have any equipment of our own. The full outfitting package made it very easy for us. We were given all the essentials and it made for a great trip overall. Ryan was very helpful from the first time I called asking questions. I have used Cliff Wolds for 20 years, for large Scout groups, to smaller family trips. The staff is always helpful and friendly, and a great resource. The equipment is top notch, and the meals are easy to prepare w/ instructions on the package. I highly recommend them!
